At next year’s Taste of Sydney March 8-11, 2012, we have partnered up with Sustainable Table to bring a programme of exciting debates and demo’s around food security and sustainability as well as some great ideas to take home.
Sustainable Table is an environmental not-for-profit organisation that uses food as an entrée to explore sustainability issues. With up to 60% of our eco-footprint embodied in the food that we buy, there is no better place to start.
In Australia, Sustainable Table works to build an engaged community of people who want to learn about sustainable food production and how they can play a practical role in supporting a fair food system for all.

Our Founder Rebecca is a Director of Willow Tree Impact Investors whom operates as an impact investment firm that manages social impact funds. Willow Impact Funds invest in for-profit companies that are committed to generating positive, sustainable and demonstrable social and environmental impact while complying with a commercial imperative.
The funds are structured as Luxembourg Specialised Investment Funds (SIF) – SICAVs.

Not only do we have a stall selling our seasonal, nostalgic goodies, every Sunday from 9am-1pm at Adelaide Showground Farmers Market, our Founder Rebecca Sullivan runs the Market Kitchen and teaches the kids in the kids club all about Sustainability.
The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market is a showcase for fresh, regional and seasonal produce where farmers and producers sell their goods direct to consumers. The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market supports small family farms, agricultural diversity and consumer choice.
Our customers have access to freshly harvested fruit and vegetables and quality locally made produce at affordable prices. Help us to help you make a difference and help SA feed South Australians!
Friends, collaborators and people we are so happy to be working with!

Rebecca is very proud to have been appointed spokesperson for McLean’s Run. She will be working with them to spread their ethical message about the amazing work they are still doing and have been since 1959. She will also be lucky enough to be creating lots of delicious eggy recipes.
The rest of the world's changed a lot since 1959. But here at McLean’s Run we still do things pretty much the same way. We run ‘Open Range’ farms. That means a maximum of 1500 hens per hectare, or six square metres for every hen. Our hen’s welfare has always comes first, second and third. We look after them and they look after us by laying rich, delicious eggs.

We are really quite ecstatic to be curating the first ever Sustainable Living area at Taste of Sydney. Dirty Girl Kitchen will be hosting a jamming stage so come down and learn loads of granny skills.
Australia's definitive pop-up restaurant festival, Taste of Sydney, returns to the beautiful surrounds of Centennial Parklands from 8-11th March, 2012.
Over four days, visitors will once again be invited to create their dream degustation, dining from a bespoke tasting menu prepared by a selection of Sydney’s leading and hatted restaurants. Over 40 mouth-watering dishes will be on offer to tempt tastebuds, with award-winning wineries, artisan producers and boutique exhibitors all on hand for visitors to sip, sample and shop from.

We are ecstatic to be producing OZ Harvest’s Feeding 5,000 event in Sydney and It’s Harvest Feast for Tasting Australia in Adelaide.
OzHarvest is a non-denomination charity that rescues excess food which would otherwise be discarded. This excess food is distributed to charities supporting the vulnerable in Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Adelaide and Brisbane.
OzHarvest was founded in Sydney in November 2004. Australia wide OzHarvest delivers 330,000 meals per month with a fleet of 12 vans.
By distributing good food to those in need, we turn excess food into a resource and save thousands of kilograms of food from being dumped as landfill each year. On average, every kilogram of food that OzHarvest rescues will avoid 2 kg of greenhouse (kg CO2-eq) emissions, and avoid the consumption of 143 litres of water.
